Film festivals ignite the public’s awareness and participation in the yearly cinematic experience by creating a commemorative poster reflecting on their culture, theme, diversity, and iconography accordingly, materializing their concept with vivid visuals.
2022 followed an environmentalist trend, where clear crystals, bright golds, and shiny silver elements represent the times we live in prevail.
The images of open skies, bronze soils, pristine deserts, and evocative beaches converge with the deep blue oceans, blending everything harmoniously with other pastel colors and mild tones, giving a naturalistic pattern to most of the creations.

THE WORLD’S BEST FILM FESTIVAL POSTERS 2022 |
Dozens of talented artists and graphic designers shaped many thought-provoking and luminous pieces to inspire film lovers to be enlightened by contemplating such marvelous works.
The quest of searching, curating, selecting, and classifying the pieces – and adding the authors, the meaning, and the techniques used in every stunning poster requires time and persistence. The outstanding selection of artworks maintains the quality and consistency of their graphics to the highest level.
Sixty-three posters from all five continents, including works from Venice, Miami, Guanajuato, Morelia, and Berlin, entered the list. Other less-known festivals displayed outstanding quality in their projects and deserved to be mentioned. Pleasant surprises from emerging players come to light. Festivals such as Santa Barbara, San Sebastian, Palm Springs, and Turks & Caicos (in the Caribbean Islands) announce their original creations in a formal ceremony.
In our collection, the number one spot went to the extraordinary work of the Journées Cinematographiques of Carthage, Tunisia. The image in the movement of actress Mbissine Thérése Diop (“Black Girl,” “Emitaï”) blends the Arab and African cultures flawlessly. The well-balanced palate, adequate fonts, and graphics complement the piece perfectly.
The Aswan Women Festival in Egypt, with three women carrying film cans on their heads across the desert, is another fantastic piece. The floating boat from Annecy animation fest in France is magnificent. The crystal flowers from Guanajuato in Mexico are spiritual. And the ten-year-old girl from Turks & Caicos who designed a poster by dictating her concept to a computer is minimalist and beautiful.

Film Festivals use numbers in their creations. |
Using “numbers” as the focal point is a significant slip-up - numbers have no beauty or harmony. Dates and years are essential but not a fundamental part of the creation. No matter how bold the concept is, numbers are generic, not aesthetic.
If you aspire to perfection, hire a consultant, specialist, another graphic designer, artist, teacher, friend, or client - someone who can give a fresh perspective redefining and polishing the artwork. Consistency is the key to reaching mastery.
It is time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the incredible selection of The World’s Best Film Festival Posters of 2022.
