Film festivals welcome enthusiastic moviegoers through online, in-person, or hybrid screenings as the world attempts to return to “normal” after an enduring pandemic. The annual celebrations convey ideas, dates, locations, and relevant information through flashy, iconic, and commemorative posters – just as the upcoming attractions have done throughout the ages.
True to their passion, artists, authors, and designers ignite their creativity by sketching complex, sophisticated, and polished designs with transcendental ramifications.
Over the year, Festival in LA curates each piece based on concept, originality, and supporting components – aligned with the festival’s theme and harmonious style. The number of colors, font type, and amount of information are essential factors in evaluating and classifying each piece.
The selected graphics reflect the uncertainties of our time and denote a deep sense of introspection through ethereal imagery. The blueprints are meaningful, colorful, and abstract – yet they also convey a ray of hope and faith for a better, brighter future.
These magnificent posters are a feast for the eyes and a gratification for the spirit in all senses. The final lineup is a set of marvelous gems that help the public recognize each festival and city’s cultural identity and beauty.
“The Light of Malaga/ La Luz de Malaga,” from the Spanish film and poster contest, earned the honorable first place. The work from Venezuelan-born visionary artist Ramiro Guevara is a visual experience. His creation is original, colorful, and innovative. His approach to the origins of light, with concentric white lines that continuously expand, is extraordinary. Mr. Guevara’s work is superb and aspires to perfection.
Our mantra is “Inclusion and diversity.” However, some of the world’s most prestigious festivals are absent from the top selection: Cannes, Toronto, London, Sundance, New York, Telluride, Santa Barbara, Lima, Rio, Miami, and Guanajuato. None of those works approached the mastery evident in previous years.
